Homemade Street-Style Crispy and Spicy Elu Tikki Recipe

Alu Tikki is a popular Indian street food that is popular among people due to the outdoor and a soft and flavored interior. This Golden Brown Street Food is made with a mixture of mashed potatoes, aromatic spices and herbs, which is a popular treatment for India and beyond. This dish is served with chutney, filled in a burger, or enjoyed as a chaat.

Material

  • 4 piece potatoes (medium, boiled, mashed)
  • 0.5 cup green peas (boiled)
  • 2 tablespoons connarflor or breadcrumb
  • 1 piece green chili (finely chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon ginger (tight)
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon garam masala
  • 0.5 teaspoon Chat Masala
  • 2 tbsp coriander leaves (chopped)
  • Salt
  • Oil

Cooking instructions

Boil the potatoes, peel, and mash them in a bowl. Add green peas to it. Once done, mix chopped green chillies, ginger, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, garam masala, chaat masala, salt and chopped coriander.

Add cornflor or breadcrumb to the mixture to make a firm flour. Once done once, shape the tikkis in the same size. For extra crispness, coat them lightly with breadcrumbs.

Heat oil in a pan and fry them to shallow the ticks in it. Make sure Tikkis is golden brown and crisp. Remove them to absorb excess oil and place them on a paper towel.

Serve Homemade Elu Tikki Hot with Mint Coriander Chutney or Tamarind Chutney.
