A 53 -year -old male patient has died Guelan-Baire Syndrome (GBS) In a hospital in Mumbai, Mumbai Municipal Commissioner Mumbai Bhushan Gagrani said on Wednesday (February 12, 2025).
This is the first death reported in Mumbai due to GBS, which makes the total death eight in Maharashtra.
The patient was admitted with weakness in his feet on 23 January.
Due to his serious condition, he was shifted to the intensive care unit (ICU) and had difficulty breathing, causing him to be placed on a ventilator. The patient was detected GBS and received proper treatment. The patient died on 11 February 2025 in the official statement of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
