Indian men’s hockey team captain Harmanpreet Singh said on Friday that his team aims to win every FIH Pro League match and to earn a direct ticket for the 2026 World Cup on top of the league.
India will open its FIH Pro League campaign against Spain in Bhubaneswar on Saturday.
He will play Spain again the next day, followed by matches against Germany on 16 and 19 February in the initial phase of India tour.
“Our training is going well from Hockey India League, we have been preparing for months, have learned a lot from Hill. We are also able to maintain our fitness, “Harmanpreet said in front of FIH Pro League opener.
He said, “We just want to play good hockey, all the players are in good size and the target is to win every game (in Pro League) looking at the World Cup.”

However, Harmanpreet was not in the mood to take Spain lightly.

India’s head coach Craig Fulton said that FIH is a “building phase” for the Pro League side.
