Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav joined DMK MP Kanimoji Karunanidhi on Wednesday, as his party’s student wing staged a protest against UGC’s draft rules at Jantar Mantar in Delhi.

Addressing the opposition of DMK Student Wing against the draft rules of the University Grants Commission (UGC), Rahul said, “I have been saying for some time now that RSS aims to eradicate all other history, all other cultures All other traditions in this country. This is their initial point and what they want to achieve. They attacked the Constitution because they want to implement an idea that their idea, a history, a tradition, is a language in this country and the effort that they are doing with the education system of different states … it is just one And the effort is the agenda of which is pushing. ,

Condemning the new education policy launched by the society, Akhilesh Yadav, head of the party’s party also condemned the protest.

Akhilesh said, “The Samajwadi Party fully supports this protest against the new education policy being introduced by the central government. Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee once said that if you support industrialists, one day will come when you will become their servants. This new education policy is a conspiracy to hand over industrialists to universities. They aim to snatch the state governments of their powers and convert politicians into the servants of industrialists. We will never support this policy. ,

He further said, “They want to seize all the powers of the state governments. They want to make politicians of industrialists servants. We can never support the new education policy. I stand here with all the students and with the decision made by you. I am against NEP. I am against BJP. ,

The protest came a month after the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly passed a resolution on 9 January, demanding that the Center immediately withdraw the rules. Except the BJP, all the parties supported the resolution, including the NDA collaborative Pattley Makkal Kachi (PMK) and the main opposition of Tamil Nadu, AIADMK.

Chief Minister MK Stalin said at the time, “The draft of UGC rules is nothing, but the central government has attempted to incite universities which the state governments have created using their own resources and economic strength. Rules are against federalism. “On January 20, Stalin wrote to Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, in which the draft UGC was requested to return the rules and in a separate letter, urged his counterparts in non-BJP states to pass a resolution against the Center’s move Do
