Revantha Reddy claims that the PM slammed it not from the PM “from birth to backward class”

Hyderabad:

Amidst a line on caste survey in Telangana, Chief Minister Revant Reddy has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not from the backward class from birth, but is related to “legally changed backward class”. Shri Modi’s caste, Mr. Reddy claimed, was added by the BJP leader to the backward classes by the Gujarat government after becoming the Chief Minister of the state in 2001.

Booting Mr. Reddy, the BJP said that the Chief Minister of Telangana wanted to make headlines by making such remarks as he did not do any work and failed to fulfill the promises made to the people of Telangana.

Speaking at a Congress program on Friday, Mr. Reddy said in Telugu, “PM Modi claims to be from a backward class, but he is not from backward classes. He is legally changed. I am choosing words carefully. He became the Chief Minister in 2001, he was one of the next castes.

The Chief Minister of Telangana claimed, “He says that he is on a chair as a backward class. He can conduct a caste certificate as a backward class, but is his anti-mentality class.”

BJP spokesperson RP Singh said that Mr. Reddy was resorting to making such statements to remain relevant.

“He (Mr. Reddy) does not do any work and wants to ensure that he makes headlines by making such controversial statements. He had earlier said (former Chief Minister) K Chandrashekhar Rao had ‘Bihari Jean’, so that everyone Be insulted by Bihar, only after finding out all the facts, ”Mr. Singh said.

BJP’s OBC (other backward classes) front national president K Laxman said that the Congress MP and the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha had made a similar statement in the past.

“Mr. Reddy’s comment on PM Modi’s caste is absolutely wrong. Rahul Gandhi also made a similar comment and fell in the eyes of the people. Why are the Congress people comment on the PM’s caste? The leaders are happy.

Panel clarification

After making such a statement last year, Rahul Gandhi, the National Commission of Backward Classes said that the notification of inclusion of Modh Ghanchi caste in the OBC state list was issued by the Government of Gujarat on 25 July 1994.

“The National Commission for Backward Classes advised the Union Government on 15.11.1997. The Gazette notification was issued on 27.10.1999 to include Mod-Gunch in the central list of OBCs for the state of Gujarat .. . This may be that the Commission said that when the above was taken in the central list of both the above decisions to include MODH-GHANCHI in the state list of OBC Did not place, “the Commission said.

Caste survey line

The Telangana government gave some details from a caste survey in the assembly on 4 February, including opposition parties, including BJP and K Chandrashekhar Rao’s BRS, claimed that it was not widespread. Some leaders within the Congress also said that there were some issues with the number.

The Telangana government then announced that a second round of survey would be held to cover 3.1% of the state’s population, which did not participate in the first round from Sunday to 28 February.
