Three years ago, his father Vikas Walker died of a heart attack in Mumbai by his live-in partner. According to reports, Vikas was suffering from depression after the murder of his daughter.
Shraddha was killed on May 18, 2022 by her live-in partner, Aftab Poonwala in her flat in Mehrauli, Delhi. He then cut the corpse into 35 pieces and stored them in a refrigerator, which he bought for this purpose and settled them in various parts of the city.
Many body parts were later found in a forest near the accused’s house. He was arrested on November 12, 2022 in connection with the crime.
Three years later, Shraddha’s father was still waiting for his daughter’s ashes to perform the funeral properly.
Vikas was living with his son in Vasai, where his health suddenly deteriorated in the early hours of Sunday. He was rushed to the hospital, where he was declared dead, news 18 reported.
The Vasai police ordered a post -mortem, stating that Vikas “clearly died of the arrest of the heart.”
A case of sensational murder came to light after the victim’s father filed a report of a missing person as he was not able to detect his daughter for about two and a half months.
In August 2023, Vikas testified in a Delhi court that Poonwala confessed to killing Shraddha. The father said that Poonwala told him that he had “strangled Shraddha with” his hands “.”
Vikas further testified that Poonwala said that he bought a saw after strangling his wrist and, according to a PTI report, put them in a garbage bag.
Before entering a relationship with Poonwala, Shraddha lived with her father and brother. His mother died in 2020.
Shraddha introduced her lover to her family for the first time after her mother’s death. Her family opposed her live-in relationship in 2019, after which she said she was 25 years old, she was able to make her decision.
