Samajwadi Party’s trade wing president Manish Jagan Aggarwal was arrested by the Lucknow Police on Friday night on a derogatory remarks against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Aditayanath. After the arrest, the Samajwadi Party alleged that the police forcibly took him into custody.
In response, the Lucknow police on Saturday clarified that the arrest was made to prevent potential “unrest and violence” through social media posts.
Lucknow Police said in a post on X, “Manish Jagan Aggarwal was arrested and further legal against it to prevent the strong possibility of constant negativity, unrest and violence in the society through objectionable positions on social media on social media. Action was taken. “

The response was followed by the allegations made by the Samajwadi Party on his social media post, claiming that Manish Jagan Aggarwal was forcibly detained by the Lucknow Police. “National President of Samajwadi Vyapar Sabha, Mr. Manish Jagan Aggarwal has been forcibly taken from his residence by Lucknow Police. Samajwadi Party spokesman Fakhrul Hasan told news agency PTI, “Manish Jagan Aggarwal was arrested last night from his residence. However, under what charge was arrested by the police officials or in which case, he was arrested. They are being taken.

Police security has also increased outside the Samajwadi Party (SP) office and party chief Akhilesh Yadav’s residence on Saturday morning amid concerns over possible protests by SP workers after the arrest of party leader Manish Jagan Aggarwal.
