Global signal
President Trump strengthened the US dollar on Tuesday after the announcement of a plan to increase the tariff on steel and aluminum imports, with additional mutual tariffs on other countries expected in the coming days.
Asian currencies traded in narrow categories, with a lower speed compared to Monday, Trump formalized his weekend pledge. Trading volumes were light due to Japan’s holiday.
Oil prices remained stable as traders absorbed the impact of the new tariff, with concerns that 25 percent of levy on American steel and aluminum imports could affect global economic growth and demand for energy.
