The clip is shared by a social media user with the title ‘My friend’s flat’, in which a person dramatically demonstrates his tight dimensions to the visit of his one-bedroom apartment.
In the video, a person standing in the middle of a very small room was painted. Just by spreading their arms to the sides, they touched both the walls, highlighting how narrow and tight the space was, according to a report on NDTV. Then, he also showed narrow tight balcony.
Real Shocker? The flat allegedly comes with the price of standing fare of Rs 25,000 per month. The video has started widespread discussion on social media on social media with users who expressed disappointment on the ineffective housing market in Bengaluru.
Startup founder tenant raises alarm on exploitation
In another recent incident, the housing crisis in India’s ‘Silicon Valley’ has emerged. Recently LinkedIn Post by Rathink Systems founder Shravan Tiku has highlighted the struggles faced by tenants.
Tiku shared the examination of a couple who rented a 2BHK apartment in Bengaluru, which was Rs 55,000 per month. Despite paying the rent on time, he was forced to spend an additional Rs 1 lakh on maintenance after his landlord refuses to bear the costs. To make cases worse, when they vacated the premises, they were also denied their safety deposits.
Tiku urged potential tenants to be cautious while renting or buying property in Bengaluru, warning that ‘City of Dreams’ could quickly turn into a nightmare due to exploitative practices in the rental market.
