Sironj, Vidisha ::
In Sironj tehsil of Vidisha district, Madhya Pradesh, a farmer fell into shock after the local administration driving a tractor on his standing crop. The action destroyed the crops of about 30 bighas, causing the farmer, Mulchand, unconscious, while his wife pleaded with the officials to stay. His cry became unheard.
The incident occurred in the Cutton Dam area, where officials claimed that the land was encroached and the leases were canceled two years ago.
Tehsildar (Local Revenue Officer) Vikas Aggarwal said, “It was government land, and it was necessary to free it from encroachment. We have taken action as per the rules.”
However, Mulchand insisted that he had deposited a fine for land in October and there was a receipt as evidence. Despite this, the administration proceeded with demolition.
Talking about a painful day, Mulchand said, “When I saw the tractor running over my hard -earned money, I could not bear it. I suffered a heart attack and fainted. When I achieved consciousness, My crop was destroyed. “
The incident has created widespread anger among the farmers and has turned into a political flashpoint.
The images of the distracted farmer and his grieving wife have criticized against the administration, in which opposition leaders have called for accountability.
Former Chief Minister and Congress leader Kamal Nath strongly condemned the move, compared to the atrocities of the British-era against the farmers.
Kamal Nath said, “Even during the British era, atrocities against farmers are being done under BJP rule.”
